I am an Italian-born translator, writer, and teacher with academic and research background in English-language literature, specialising in contemporary New Zealand writing. I hold a PhD in Literatures of English-Speaking Countries from Sapienza University of Rome, where my research focused on contemporary New Zealand literature.

I currently teach Lingua e Traduzione Inglese 2 at the University for Foreigners of Siena, Unistrasi. I have also taught at Victoria University of Wellington – Te Herenga Waka, as well as in lifelong learning settings through organisations such as the Circolo Italiano di Wellington and the House of Philosophy.

My work centres on bringing New Zealand literature to Italian-speaking audiences through translation, research, and editorial collaboration. I have translated works by leading New Zealand writers, including Patricia Grace’s novels Pōtiki and Tu, and Janet Frame’s The Lagoon and Other Stories, helping to make the richness and diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand’s literary voices accessible to Italian readers.

My editorial work also reflects a commitment to Māori literature and multilingual exchange. In 2020, I edited Matariki, sciame di stelle, a parallel-text collection of contemporary Māori women’s poetry translated into Italian. In 2023, together with Maringikura Mary Campbell, I co-edited the anthology Let it Rain E Ua Te Ua: Tukuna ki te Mārama, bringing together poetry in te reo Māori, Cook Islands Māori, English, Italian, French, and Japanese.

Across my teaching, translation, and editorial practice, I seek to build connections between languages and cultures, creating new pathways for literary exchange between Italy and Aotearoa New Zealand.
